Clare Boat Club, founded in 1831, is the rowing club of Clare College and the largest sports society at Clare. One of the oldest college boat clubs, Clare Boat Club is a friendly, sociable and competitive boat club. We have a long history of success on the River Cam, and students of all levels are encouraged to participate in races throughout the academic year.
We run courses for complete beginners at the start of every Michaelmas and Easter term; rowing is free for everyone at Clare and a great way to meet people from all years and courses.
Clare Boat Club also runs a flexible and competitive programme for experienced rowers and regularly competes for the top honours in college competitions.
CBC has a rich history of providing representatives for the Cambridge University boat clubs both in the Boat Races and other national competitions.
