After some initial difficulties, which you all seemed to take in your stride, you produced some really nice rowing - long and strong, and you settled to a good rhythm. You seemed very responsive to Dom's calls for pushes, which resulted in noticeable changes in boat speed each time, and you ate into the crew in front of you. With a little work on maintaining that strong rhythm at a slightly higher rate, I think that you could have a very successful bumps. Well done!

Fantastic news, everyone! Congratulations on a great race today.

Our practice starts on the way down paid off, since we got off to a really nice 32 / 33 off the start. Any wobbles off the start were quickly dealt with as we settled down to a sustainable 30, which helped massively as we moved steadily into First Post and Grassy. The rudder was nice and responsive, too, which meant that we were nippy round the corners.

Several pushes and calls for 'backs of heads' really made us sit up into a slight headwind going down the reach, while the instruction to 'empty the tanks' seemed to work strongly.

We're chasing Girton IV, and being chased by Emma IV, on the first day of Bumps: let's make this good! With us drawn at 9th, we've got a great chance to secure a permanent spot in the Mays for Clare M4.
